Laurena White, Real Estate Broker Associate, is the best in helping people make important life decisions with no pressure and no personal agenda. “Not only does she find you the perfect house, she gets your life in order” remarked Frank Godlewski, her client. A native of Montclair, she believes ones home is a valued asset that should be properly marketed and provide the maximum return when sold. A problem solver at heart, Laurena is a retired Manager & Engineer from AT&T/ New York Telephone. She emphasizes giving the options, educating her clients on current market conditions, finding the “right community” which is the most important part of the housing decision and being the advocate on their behalf. She remarks that “she got into this business to help people” and strives for the support of the best real estate minds and a “team” work environment.

Active in public education, the arts and providing better services for our youth, Laurena serves on numerous boards of the Montclair Public Schools, Public Library Booktoberfest, Montclair Scholarship Fund, Montclair Art Museum, Montclair Arts Council, former Essex County Arts Council, Montclair State University Theatrefest, Bloomfield College Arts Council, chairs the Montclair HS Class of 66 Reunions, and served as a consultant to develop the Master Technology & Network plan for all of the Montclair public schools. Her appointments include the Montclair Fair Evaluation Task Force for the town reassessment in 2006, Essex County panel member for Fee Arbitration and now Ethics by the NJ Supreme Court and Home Corp Trustee, a Montclair non-profit that provides affordable housing.

Her achievements have been recognized throughout the region and include the West Essex Board of Realtors Distinguished Sales Club Award in 2011, Realtor of the Year in 2005 and Circle of Excellence 1998-2008 , American Red Cross Community Service Award in 2005, YMCA 50 Women You Should Know 2000”, NYC YMCA Black Achievers Award, NYNEX President’s Excellence Award to mention a few.

Her hobbies are jigsaw puzzles, decorating, traveling and community service. She resides in Montclair with her husband Chris White, retired chair of Bloomfield College’s Music Department and world reknown Jazz Bassist playing with Dizzy , Nina Simone, to mention a few. They have two grown sons, Christopher and Bashari, plus two step daughters June and Alexandra and three busy grandchildren.
